trip to prague, taxi from holesovice station to hotel

we would like to know the price for a taxi going

from holesovice train station to hotel rott,

male namesti 4/138 prague 1.

train will arrive from vienna 2:00pm

Make sure you call for a taxi and do not take the taxis waiting at the train station.

I used AAA taxi. They spoke English. The only trouble I had was giving them the address of where I was standing. Best to have that before you call them. Since my American cell phone didn%26#39;t work there I had to buy a phone card and use a pay phone but there was one outside the station.

My hotel told me the taxi would be no more than 300Kr and my hotel was in mala Strana which is a little further away I think than your hotel.

Why not take the taxis waiting outside the station? Are they not the %26quot;legal%26quot; taxis? I know in Rome we had to walk past the gypsy taxis to get the regulated taxis...is it like that in Prague?

I was never able to find the regulated, %26quot;true%26quot; taxis at the train station. Maybe there are some there but I didn%26#39;t find them and took the recommendation from TA people to call for one to assured the right price.
