Accommodation Outside Central Prague

Hi. I wonder if anyone could recommend any reasonable hotels (or apartments) on the outskirts of Prague or even in a town close to Prague.

We%26#39;ll be travelling to Prague by car, and do not wish to take it into central Prague. Ideally we are looking for a hotel that is about 20 - 30 minutes from central Prague.

I%26#39;m probably asking for too much, but it would be good if the hotel/apartment was in walking distance (10 minutes or so) of a metro stop or station and in a safe area.

Definately try Guesthouse Lida. It is in the suburbs and easy to get to downtown Prague by metro (three stops).

I have used this place on a couple of occasions,about a 25-30 walk to the city center but close ( 5 minutes walk or less) to tram and bus routes that get you there in 5 minutes or so.

it does have a secure parking area.

they have 2 standard of accommodation.the superior being very modern but in my opinion the rooms are a bit small,or the standard accommodation,big rooms but more old fashioned and a bit tired decoration wise.Both facilities were more than adaquate and I really have no complaint about the hotel at all.

good food and an excellent choice for buffet breakfast,efficient staff that speak good English.The area is as safe as any city location and there is a Police station in the same street.

praguepivo: We%26#39;ll be driving from Nuremberg to Prague. After Prague we%26#39;ll be going to Krakow via Brno and Olomouc.
