Myslef and some friends are travelling to the Czech Republic in early July. We are flying into Brno where we will stay for one night. We would then like to go find a base for some walking for about 5 days. We don%26#39;t want anything overly strenuous, just some good hill or low mountain walking. ideally our base for this would be somewhere with raesonable accommodation and a choice of bars and restaurants. Have looked at Jesenik, but think it may be a bit too quiet. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks. Ian

You should consider trying the Šumava region in South Bohemia. Lots of small lovelz villages, forests and loads of choice for accommodation. Plus, the terrain is gentler than in the North. Not to mention that you could add Krumlov or Budějovice to your tour.
