Cesky Krumlov worth it?

Hi I%26#39;m going with ny husband for a vet conference next month to Pragu, there is one day he will be buried in the lectures and they are offering a tour to Cesky Krumlov it will cost 98 euros, can anyone tell me if it is worth it?

I%26#39;ve heard it is a beautifull place.

Thanks

Absolutely worth it and it is a beautiful place. The only problem is if this is a day tour, you won%26#39;t have much time there since it is a 2.5 - 3 hour trip from Prague to CK. I have overnighted there both times that I%26#39;ve been and would recommend that. If you have the chance, take the Castle interior tour. Great rooms, original furniture, etc.

Thanks, I know it is far, this is why it is an all day tour,

Have fun

we went for the day and loved it...it%26#39;s like a fairy tale. It will be a long day, but you can nap on the way back1

Definitely worth it. It%26#39;s a magical little town. My husband and I saved a lot of money by traveling by bus to CK instead of a tour. As a side note, this is the little town where the live action Pinocchio movie was filmed (starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas) about 10 years ago.

Hi,

How difficult was it to get to CK by public transport?

We are going to be in Prague over Christmas is public transport affected at this time?

Thanks

We took a bus to CK from the Andel bus station around 9:00 a.m. and it took about 3 hrs. It was a comfortable ride and we saved

money. If you are on the other side of the river (old town side)

the bus leaves from Florenc station. You can also travel by train.

I took the bus from Florenc and it was also 3 hours. I%26#39;d recommend making reservations for a seat, however, as it is a local bus (8-10 stops?) and people had to stand all along the way. This can be done at the bus station the day prior. It is cheap to do this.

Can we make a reservation for 4 seats a few days in advance? Or it%26#39;s only allowed for 1 day advance? Are we guaranteed seats if we book in advance? Anyone can advise me how much is the bus ticket (from Andel)? Thank you!

Reason why a bus trip takes all day is that it takes 3 hours to Cesky Krumlov. I actually find the inside of the Cesky Krumlov castle, the most disappointing part of Cesky Krumlov. You can wonder inside the castle area without going inside the actual castle rooms.

The buses that leave from Andel are run by a different company from the buses that leave from Florenc. It is much more difficult to reserve a seat in advance at Andel than at Florenc (where there is an advance tickets office which speaks English). Reserving a seat does you that, but in most cases, you just get a seat not a specific numbered seat. You can reserve as many seats in advance as you pay for and it is definately worth doing in advance. Remember to book your return journey at the same time as your outward journey as otherwise you may find yourself standing 3 hours back to Prague. Ticket each way costs no more than 200 crowns (about 7 Euros)

Public transport is reduced over the Christmas period (and this route will probably not run on 25th or 26th December and the 24th buses will be booked up a long time in advance)

Thank you for this valuable info. We shall certainly book return bus tickets. We will be staying in Andel and hence thought taking the bus from Andel would be more convenient. Shall explore further on this versus Florenc. Thanks again.
