We just enjoyed a lovely stay in Prague , it really is a beautiful city , unfortunately the hotel we were staying in , The Prague castle hotel , on U Zelezne lavky , overcharged us by 20% , this is not uncommon in Prague , where the hotel quotes its prices in Euros but uses and Extortionate exchange rate to get a lower Euro price , the trip was marred when we returned home and got the a credit card bill 20% more than we were expecting.
I recommend to stay well away from this hotel.

A similar thing happened yesterday on another thread
listed below.Take a look.
U tri bubnu - overcharging

You should never pay in Euros, even if they ask you to - insist on having a price in Crowns - it is, after all, the national currency.

I paid in euro as they quote me in euro. Actually the currency exchange on the street cheated me 20% of what I supposed to have.

I don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s any fraud in the hotel. I recommend to stay in this hotel as the location, room, staff are very good.

They can quote in Euro as much as they like, but you don%26#39;t have to pay them in Euro - as I said, it is not the national currency, and they must have a price in Crowns as well.
Read all the threads in this forum about changing money in street exchange offices! Steer well clear of them! There may be one or two %26#39;OK%26#39; ones, but by and large they are only there to rip you off.
