Smoking in bars in Prague

The anti smoking legislation is sweeping across Europe yet had not reached the Czech Republic according to my last reports. Do I need to prepare to return to the experience of smoke filled bars..??

Yes,but it does vary from bar to bar.

I have certainly noticed a big difference over my many visits to the Czech Republic, bars are certainly not as smokey as they used to be and many do have no smoking areas.

Yes, you might, though some places like Ferdinanda and Pivovarsky Klub have properly separated non smoking areas, and Pivovarsky Dum is nonsmoking since November last year. However, most places are still smoky, specially the corner hospody, but they tend to have the best atmosphere too....

Im not a big fan of smoke filled pubs, but I dislike bans even more.

Ferdinanda is gonna be our gathering together meeting point - we are travelling different days and different ways. Which means that at Ferdinanda I will down my first czech beer - I shall loose my pivo virginity there, ha ha.

And a pretty good place it is...

Be sure to have a glass of Sedm Kuli...
