Train from Prague to Berlin - HELP :-)

HI,

Myself and two Australian mates are heading to Prague in Early July for 3 nights, before travling onto Berlin.

I am trying to find out if anyone knows where i can find information about catching a train between Prague and Berlin.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, i.e. where i can purchase tickets, how long it takes, how much it costs, and what times the tain leaves i would be more greatful.

It should cost about 50 euros, but you MIGHT be able to get cheaper tickets on-line at www.db.de, but they sell out quickly.

There are EC (Euro-City) trains every couple hours all day long from the Holesovice station in Prague to Berlin. Fare is 56.80 Euro. Just buy your ticket at the station.

You can easily get to the Holesovice station via the Metro system.

We%26#39;ve done the reverse trip twice. From Prague, all you need to do is catch the %26quot;C%26quot; (Red) metro to Holesovice train station. (Don%26#39;t confuse it with the train station near Wenceslas Square.) Trains from Prague to Berlin run every couple of hours throughout the day...just buy your ticket at the station when you get there. Trip takes about 4 1/2 hours.

Does anyone know if there is an overnight train? This would save a nights accomodation.

I heard a romour that there was an overnight service, but again my research has struck a deadend.

I think this has been covered in a previous thread as well - no, there isn%26#39;t a night train as the journey is not long enough. However, there are night trains, but you would need to change several times in darkest Eastern Germany.

think prague-berlin is 39 euros p.p. + there might be group discount but different for each country...

for Prague Berlin I prefer bus. studentagency.cz offer prices of cca 30EUR one way, incl. hot drinks and movies. The journey takes 5hrs so it is ok for bus ride. The buses leave daily from Florenc bus terminal.
