How long does it take from Prague to Munich on the direct train? Is this a very scenic route? 1bull

Its about six hours, Czech Railways have deals on return tickets time to time, last time we went it was 1500,-CZK for return in second class. Stop by their office, you will save a lot of money as oppose to reservation from abroad.
The route is beautiful right from Prague, it follows the river, runs via Pilsen (great Pilsner brewery museum, worth the stop) - rolling green landscape, hills, mountains on the border to Germany. On our last trip the train ran much slower on the German side and came to few full stops in the middle of nowhere, which was annoying, but the landscape was very nice as well.

if you%26#39;re going soon, there%26#39;s been a engine driver strike in germany recently and trains to munich would only go till nuremberg. don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s still going on...

1Bull - Can you help me with train travel from Prague to Munich? Is there a good website to visit because it all looks very confusing to me. We are planning to travel to Prague in August then onto Munich. thanks

There is one direct train a day, dep. Prague 09:16, arrive Munich 15:19
Website: jizdnirady.idnes.cz/ConnForm.asp… - it is very straightforward and should require no explanation
Cost - about 55 Euros. Don%26#39;t get your ticket from Rail Europe - you can get it on the day.
