I%26#39;ve finally narrowed my hotel search down to two places.....are there any benefits to these two areas that would make my decision final?? One seems to be closer to the river than the other.....does that make a difference? I don%26#39;t think either one of them has any significant view.
Any comments are appreciated....thank you!

In general, Smichov is more of a concentrated commercial area. Vinohrady, in many parts, has more charm -- though Vinohradska street is quite busy.

I%26#39;ve not stayed in Smichov but I have stayed in the Vinohrady area a number of times (I usually stay on Jana Masaryka, a short walk from the public transport connections at Namesti miru). I really like the area and once you move away from main throughfares, the surrounding streets are pretty residential, charming and tranquil. There%26#39;s a growing number of restaurants and cafes in the area and the Meduza Bar on Belgicka is one of my favourite watering holes in Prague.
