What is cheaper? 3 country pass or separate tickets?

Hello, I%26#39;m trying to figure out what%26#39;s cheaper and based on my calculations to buy seprate tickets is cheaper. Here is where I%26#39;m looking to go

1. From Prague to Vienna

2. Vienna to Nuremburg

From what I can find on line 3 country 5 day pass comes out to $400 and separate tickets

From Prague to Vienna $89 and from Vienna to Nuremburg $153

Am I missing something?

Thank you!!!

You%26#39;ve been looking at Raileurope, haven%26#39;t you? You should know from reading this forum that Raileurope will charge anything up to 100% more than the real price.

They have got to feed their children somehow.

Prague to Vienna costs 33 Euros ($52), and Prague uremburg is 82 EUR ($130). You do not need to buy these tickets in advance.

This ought to be written in big letters at the top of this forum - %26#39;Trains do not sell out here!%26#39;!!

Good luck!

Dear GCEK, thank you very much for your reply...

i was planning to buy tickets once we get there anyway... but should i just get 2 separate fairs or should i buy 3 country/5days pass ?

Again, thank you!

If you are only getting those trains, it would be best to just get the tickets on the day.

If you want to do some travelling while you are in the Czech Republic, trains are cheap and efficient (e.g. Prague - Kutna Hora is only 5 Euros 1st class), and it would require a lot of travelling to make the pass worthwhile, and you wouldn%26#39;t have much time to enjoy those places anyway.

For your train times, etc, use this site: jizdnirady.idnes.cz/JRCis.asp?tt=c%26p=MF%26cl=E5

It looks as though there are direct trains Vienna - Nuremberg every two hours, taking 4 hours 45 minutes. These are ICE trains (super slick high-speed trains) - it may be that these need to be reserved, but I would ask on the Austria forum for that information.

Hope this helps!
