hotel near the Prague Congress Centre

Hi folks -

going to a conference in the Prague Congress Centre 30 Apr - 3 May, want to book decent hotel (not the Top Hotel Prague Congress Centre - the reviews are awful)which is within walking distance of the Congress Centre but also ? within the central part of town. If it came down to it would rather nice hotel near city centre/tourist attractions and have to bus/metro/taxi out to the Congress centre each day. Hoping to spend approx €100 per night or a little more. Rooms seem tricky to get even at this stage. Have never been to Prague so no sense of layout, ease of transport, distance from airport etc. can anyone advise and drop names of some contenders as hotels?

Was at a conference last year and stayed at Ibis Wenceslas Square. The metro is a copule of hundred metres up the road and the conference centre is one stop away.

When sightseeing I either took the metro or walked to Wenceslas Square etc.

The hotel was very handy and was ok, not the best and not the worst!!

the nearest hotel is probably the Corinthia Towers,just the other side of the Metro station from the Conference center.

The Ceter iteslf is in the Vysehrad area of the city ,basically on the fringes of the main city center.the metro is the best way of getting there .if you can get a hotel near IP Pavlova or the Museum metro stops then it will only take a few minutes to the Conference center.

Try www.travelcook.cz,the have a request form and you can enter your requirements and they will try and find something to suit.

BTW I did like the Corinthia Towers,never stayed there but have eaten there and played 10 pin bowling there ,a most enjoyable place.

is the Conference center not offering linked deals on local hotels,i usually find this is the case when i go to conferences.

Thanks CarrieQ and Edinburgh expert, both of you for your input - the Congress are only suggesting the Top Hotel and its reviews on this site are abominable. Besides, my sister is tagging along and not going to the conference, so think I%26#39;ll settle in near Wenceslas square and metro out to the Congress centre as it seems do-able.

the Museum Metro is close to Wenseslas Square,lots of places around that area to stay in.

the metro will take about 5 minutes to the Congress center.
