Music Festival

I will be visiting Prague during the music festival. Can anyone provide guidance on whether I should purchase tickets to the events in advance, or when I arrive? My schedule is not firmed up just yet, and I would like to maintain some flexibility. My travel companion is a big rock and roll fan, so any suggestions beyond classical music for experiencing the local R%26amp;R flavor would be appreciated.

Always have to say buying in advance is better. You never know what will sell out (or not have your seating/pricing choice).

Prague is not a big rock town, but there are a few options.

In the center, Vagon has a lot of local guitar bands:

Palac Akropolis has a wide variety of stuff from folk to electronica:

Also Chateau Rouge Underground (in the sub-basement) has bands:
