first trip to prague

Hello! My husband and are planning our first trip to Prague in May 2008. We want to stay near the major sites, but obviously don%26#39;t know the area. I have been doing a little reading about this, but am a bit confused... inner, outer city, Prague districts 1,2 and 3, old town.... If someone could help to guide us in the right direction that would be great. We would like somewhere relatively quiet, but would prefer and older hotel with charm, and of course, the less expensive the better. Something in the $100.00 US range. Thanks for any information you can offer!

The %26quot;$100.00%26quot; range already limits you to away from the Old Town, Charles Bridge, etc. Remember, the Czech Crown is now the strongest currency in Europe, and Prague is relatively expensive, unless you stay away from tourist areas for restaurants, hotels, etc.

I stay at the Betlem Club Hotel, which is ideally located between the Old Town, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, etc. It is moderately-priced for Prague, clean, and safe. I just checked a few dates in their web site, and it looks as if it is booked up. May is popular and a moderately-priced hotel sells out. You might have to write to them. Double rooms are priced at 135 Euros, which is way above your budget, though. The attic doubles are less, but are smaller.

Thank you Castleblanca! I checked out the hotel you mentioned and it does seem to be booked. Too bad, because it looked pretty nice. Thank you for the suggestion!
