Bike trip in Czech Republic anyone?

As part of our vacation this summer, we are planning a 6 day bike trip from Cesky Krumlov to Prague, visiting UNESCO sites. It%26#39;s a self guided trip where our luggage will be transported from place to place but we are on our own. We will have detailed maps, a cell phone and a GPS system, but if we have a flat tire or get lost we%26#39;re on our own. I%26#39;m both very excited and also a bit apprehensive.

Has anyone ever see the countryside this way? In addition to being able to see places we would miss from a car or bus, I like the zero carbon footprint we will be leaving for a few days.

It sounds great - which UNESCO sites will you be seeing? In that area you have got Holášovice, Český Krumlov, maybe Telč, Kutná Hora, and Prague itself.

I have just finished translating a whole load of stuff about the UNESCO sites - did you know that there is a total of 12 such sites in the Czech Republic, which is more than twice the world average, therefore making the Czech Republic a UNESCO superpower? :)

Just to warn you - it will be hilly, so get some practise in beforehand!

Your next cycle journey next year in Moravia to see the remaining seven sites, or some of them, at least, should be a lot flatter, for example www.topbicycle.com/BTCRMikulovCTesin.htm

The area around South Moravia to the south of Brno down to Mikulov and Lednice/Valtice (another UNESCO site) is perfect cycling country.

Have fun!

The trip you posted also sounds fabulous, but a bit expensive now considering the euro/dollar exchange rate.
