How and where to book train or bus Prague - Lviv

We need to get from Prague to Lviv, Ukraine. We have no idea if there is such a bus or train. We%26#39;ll be in Prague for few days, and then, need to go to Lviv, Ukraine. Please, help. Where to buy a ticket for the bus or train Prague - Lviv in August. Can we buy it at Main Station (Hlavni Nadrazi) at Prague? Approximately, how much is it?

Thank you so much for all your help in advance.

There is one direct train (25 hours) and one direct bus (15 hours) a day, but you do NOT want to get the bus, even though it is apparently shorter - as it is going to Ukraine they are not too bothered about laying on their best air-conditioned buses, and your fellow travellers are likely to be well-fuelled with vodka. Also in August it is likely to be very hot so it would be a very uncomfortable journey indeed.

I once got the bus from Brno to Banska Bystrica in Slovakia (which had a final destination of Kiev) - it was lively to say the least, and I got off after less than a quarter of the journey :)

Also the 15 hours is a bit of an estimate - the road border can take ages to get through.

The direct train leaves Prague main station at 21.24 and arives at the awkward hour of 23.46, 25 hours later. There are slightly quicker ways by train, but you will have to change several times in Slovakia and Ukraine. It only costs about 50 Euros, but you will have to pay a sleeper supplement of c. 20 Euros. There should be no problem at all buying tickets in Prague, even on the day of departure.

They don%26#39;t tend to use the Ukraininan spelling of Lviv, either - Lvov is more commonly used, also when searching for times on the above search engine.

Hope this helps!
