May 21- June 2 Itinerary: Please comment/give suggestions

Greetings!

I am leaving May 21 to go to Prague, Krakow, and Budapest, Dubrovnik, returning back home to Los Angeles, California on June 2. I wil be travelling solo for my first time so I am really excited about this. After doing some more reading on Eastern/Central Europe, I%26#39;d love to squeeze in a quick visit to Dubrovnik (Croatia) but don%26#39;t know if I am planning too many city visits in the time that I have and spending too much time on trains/plans instead of fully enjoying my trip. Let me know what you think of my current plan:

May 21- Los Angeles Airport to Prague

May 22- Arrive in Prague

May 22- May 23: Sleep in Prague 2 nights

May 24- Check out of Prague hotel, sleeper train to Krakow

May 25- Sleep in Krakow 1 night

May 26- Check out of Krakow hotel, sleeper train to Budapest

May 27- May 28: Sleep in Budapest 2 nights

May 29- Check out of Budapest hotel, train to Zagreb

May 29- Arrive in Zagreb, fly to Dubrovink. Sleep over Dubrovinik

May 31- Check out of Dubrovnik hotel, fly to Zabreb, sleeper train to Prague

June 1- Stay overnight in Prague

June 2- Leave Prague

Should I just visit Prague, Krakow and Budapest and leave out Dubrovnik for a future trip?

Thanks in advance for your help and tips. This is a great forum.

Cheers!

Elisa

Just got back from Prague. It is amazing. We stayed 1 week and did 2 day trips outside the city. Jay Pesta is a great English speaking guide. www.prague-walks.com. He will customize whatever you want to see and is really fun to be around. His prices are reasonable compared to other tours and much more personal. I really recommend at least his city walking tour. If you want/need more, just ask.

Hi Elisabs

As no one is rushing to post advice here may I just offer you just one thought?

You seem to be about to devote a lot of time and effort in order to visit Dubrovnik.

As someone who has visited (and greatly enjoyed) a restful week there I would counsel against that until perhaps you do an Italian trip on another holiday at which time you could perhaps fly from Rome.

If you decide to go ahead with your Dubrovnik trip don%26#39;t miss a trip to Mostar !

Can%26#39;t help with the Prague visit as I will be a first time visitor myself in May this year

Enjoy !

I would skip Dubrovnik; not because it is not worth a visit, but three cities in a row are a lot to impressions and experiences to process.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I decided to skip Krakow and just go to Prague, Budapest and Dubrovnik. Yes,I know Dubrovnik is out of the way but I was able to find an affordable flight from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. I%26#39;ve been really impressed with the beautiful images of Dubrovnik so it%26#39;s hard to pass up a visit to this area...especially since it%26#39;s close to my birthday. :)

It%26#39;s a bit more sensible - one of them had to give :)

Just make sure you don%26#39;t get your train tickets from Rail Europe or you will be paying far more than you should be. These tickets can all be bought on the day.

However, there is one problem - there aren%26#39;t any direct sleeper trains from Zagreb to Prague! The only %26#39;overnight%26#39; train takes almost 18 hours and involves a change in Villach late at night.
