Breakfast near the Intercontinenal Hotel

We are staying at the Intercontinental but did not get breakfast with our rate.

Any good ideas for close breakfast spots?

Also, we need to get from the hotel to the train station very early (6:30 am). Any ideas other than the hotel arrainging for this, which I know will be expensive?

We will have luggage.

Thanks Milton62

Bakeshop Praha on Dlouha, off Old Town Square.

There is also a Coffee Heaven with muffins, sandwiches etc at the other end of Old Town Square.

Slightly further, you can get an American-style breakfast at Red Hot and Blues near Obecni Dum/Namesti Republiky.

You can take City Taxi. Safe and dependable and cheapest. Call (or hotel can call): 257 257 257

Can be set up the day before -- operators speak English. Just don%26#39;t take a taxi off the street ever unless it is at a Fair Place stand.

Cafe Lamborghini by the Spanish Synagoge makes the best coffee and great breakfast. Bakeshop is great, but very expensive now. It%26#39;s a shame. Best breakfast I think offers Radost FX, actually a night club in the basement and a restaurant/ lounge on the ground floor, great healthy vegetarian breakfasts, great atmosphere.

Radost is not near the Intercont, it is on Belehradska 120, btw, but it is worth going.

Brewsta, even at Fair Place stand ? Can you elaborate? Am interested to know if this Fair Stand is not actually working well.

Thank you all for the great advise. This has been so helpful, as I believe the hotel would encourage us to eat at the hotel, and although I heard they have a great breakfast, it is about $40 USD per person.

I also would like to get out and try new places, so thank you all again.

kat1, that is a misunderstanding, the Fair Places do work well. I picked up a AAA taxi waiting at the Old Town square last night, a total nono before, and it was perfectly alright.

What do you mean about the Fair Places? Is this a specific stand?

Also, does anyone know how far the Na Knizeci bus station to get the Student Agency Bus to Cesky Krumlov is from the Intercontinental?

Thanks again for all of your help.

Martina thanks, I read again and yes, I read too quickly the first time and thought %26quot; not to take taxi even at Fair Place stands %26quot;.

Milton, this is the sign of Fair Place Stand. You take a taxi there and will not get ripped off.

It should be all over the city now but I remember one particulary by the small park facing the Prague Castle%26#39;s main gate. It had a chart that showed various destinations - officical rates.

Hi Kati1,

Thank you, now I got it! This is very helpful.
