I liked the area near the old town square. Must sees: the churches, the bridge, and you need to walk around to see all of the beautiful architecture Prague has to offer.

You can take a train to Budapest. Depending on thr amount of time you have - you may want to add Vienna on to your trip.

I personally will not spend more than 4-5 hours on a train. There are many cheap budget airlines you can choose from that are cheaper than a train. Wizzair, ryanair, shyeurope, or easyjet.

Have fun, I know you will!!!!

Hello.

I love riding trains. I would suggest that you go from Prague to Budapest with night train. It leaves Prague Hlavni Nadrazi (main train station in prague) 21.53 and arrives in Budapest Keleti pu 7 in the morning.(if I remember correct)

I find it a perfect way of going from one beautiful city to another and you do not have to use a full day to move from one place to another (even if it is a beautiful train ride in daylight). One other benefit you get by going with night train is that you save the money for hotel that night, and the ticket is something you would need anyway, even if the price of the bed comes in addition to the normal ticket.

My favourite place to stay in Prague is on the Mala Strana side of river Vltava. The area goes from Vlatava up the the Castle, filled up with people in daytime, and wounderful and quiet in the evening. If you will stay just 2 days in Prague, i would say that you need one day in the Castle area and one day in teh Old Town. Maybe the best part of staying in Mala Strana is that after a long day in the Old Town, you will walk across Charles Bridge late in the evening when most of the tourist has settled down in their places, and you will see the bridge in a very different way than what you did when you passed it in the middle of the day!

Charles Bridge by night is magic!
