Cinderella ballet (State op) OR The magic flute Estates thea

Hi,

Once again, I need your help. We will be 3 nights in Prague and we don%26#39;t want to be inside every night (even if it%26#39;s for wonderful shows) Just walk in the little streets should be very great, as I read before.

So, if you have to choose between an opera (The magic flute) at Estates Theater an a ballet (Cinderella, State opera)what would you do??? We are not expert in those arts, we just want to spend a nice evening in a great place.

Thanks a lot!

You didn%26#39;t mention when you will be in Prague (or have I missed it?)

Just for your info, my wife 7 I will be in Prague early in May (fist timers here) and back in February we booked (online, via Prague Experience) for Sleeping Beauty at the Estates. Ticket prices 680czk plus booking fee 125 czk.

Will report on this when we return.

Enjoy !

Can%26#39;t comment on Cinderella but my parents saw The Magic Flute at the Estates Theatre and raved about it. Both the production and the theatre itself

For Ron, we will be there in May 18, 19 and 20. But in the first evening, we don%26#39;t want to book anything. We will be on jet lag effect!!! I will look for your report when you return. Have a nice trip!

Mightywease, thank you for your comment. It could be a nice moment at the Estates theatre.

I would choose on the basis of tickets/price.

If you can get and are willing to pay for good tickets to the ballet (first level front, box, not more than balcony - then go for it - Prokofjev%26#39;s music is very romantic and Prague ballet ensemble is very good. Being close you will have chance to appreciate the dancers. Not so much from cheaper seats on upper levels.

I have seen Magic flute in State Opera from the uppermost gallery and still had great experience. magical music, very catchy well known melodies and easy to follow story. It will probably be cheaper.

Both venues are magnificent, recently renovated, Estates is older, smaller and more %26quot;pit-like%26quot;. The original Mozart%26#39;s Don Giovanni premiere site, very historical. In the middle of Old Town.

State Opera building is little off the main center, some 10 min walk from the Wenceslass square, but very manageable.

I would go and see The Magic Flute any day, purely for sentimental reasons...

We finally booked for The Magic Flute, at the Estates Theater. I think we will have a great evening...

Thanks to everyone for your answer!
