Day trip to Dresden from Prague questions

1)Is there a better weekday to go Dresden?(less crowds).

2) Train tickets:

what%26#39;s a an average price for a ticket?

Are there different classes?

Is there on-line schedule?

How long is the trip?

We want to leave Prague as early as possible, and return as late as possible.

Thanks in advance

- I reckon any weekday is OK to go to Dresden to avoid the crowds. Whatever, it will be less crowded than Prague.

- It is 20 Euros 2nd class, 32 Euros first class - there is not that much difference between the two, just a little bit more space in first.

- about 2 hours 10 to 2 hours 20

- Leave main station at 0625, arr. 0846

- Back again they go every two hours, but by 1910 you will have seen everything, arrive back at 2132

You can buy the tickets on the day, or the day before if you want (but you have to tell them which day you are travelling), or even on the train (but that costs a bit more). They do not sell out. Back again, you can get the tickets in Dresden, or you can buy a return (zpáteční) in Prague, which just costs twice as much as the single.

It is a nice journey, especially when you follow the River Elbe, and what is left of Dresden is well worth seeing - it is amazing how they put the city back together again.

Hope this helps!
