currency and sights

Going to Prague 13th April, staying close to Wenceslas square, can anyone tell me what currency to take, is it better to change it over there or get it before I go? Do they accept dollars or Sterling over there? Travelling with a teenager and 10 year old, can anyone recommend some sights or things to do that will interest them?

Thanks

No!

Best is to use your ATM card...

Hi Elaineuk40. I will be on my 5th visit to Prague at the same time as you (one of the dreaded stag parties - but not as bad as we are reputed). I suggest that you change a small amount of sterling for czech koruna in the uk with M%26amp;S or the PO and rely upon your debit card from any of the regular ATMs for general expenditure in Prague. The commission for using the machine will still give you a saving on the currently poor exchange rate.

For kids I suggest the Castle, Vysehrad, a boat trip, Petrin Hill (hall of mirrors), Letna and Vystaviste parks and the zoo.Depending upon whether they share my boy%26#39;s macabre tastes, the museums of Torture Instruments, Spiders and Scorpions, Technology, and Communism may also amuse them.

I have visited the city for family and romantic breaks as well as large and small groups of blokes and remain entertained, amazed and delighted by the sheer beauty and variety of the city. Enjoy

Thanks for the replies. Mcviking...could you tell me where to pick up information on how to get to the zoo and places that you have suggested?

Thanks

For most of my suggestions, try here -

or here -

Unfortunately it looks as though the National Technical Museum is currently closed for reconstruction.

This is the site for the Communism Museum - I found this fascinating but harrowing -

The torture museum details are here (conveniently located next to a McDonalds!!, ironic or what) -

I hope that you have a great time
